The Story of the Gold Buddha

They say there is a Buddha made of pure gold in Thailand. Sometime in the 1950’s a monastery was relocating and one of the monks, while moving a statue, noticed a crack in it’s plaster. From the crack, emanated something similar to the rays of the sun. When they peeled away the plaster, they found it was actually made of pure gold. It was later discovered the golden Buddha had been hastily shrouded by the monks as the Burmese army attacked. Sadly, all the monks were killed in that senseless act of despicable war, so the Buddha’s truth was erased for 200 years.
